Air Force (IAF) will conduct the AFCAT 02/2017 examination on 27 Aug 2017 for which online applications are being started  now. The official notification for AFCAT 02 2017 examination has been released and the last date for online application is 29th June 2017.

Information About AFCAT

The Indian Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is conducted by the Indian Air Force twice ( in February and September) every year for selection of Officers in various branches of the force including:-

*Flying Branch (Short Service    Commission)

*Technical Branch (Short Service    Commission and Permanent  Commission)

*Ground Duty Branch (Short Service  Commission and Permanent  Commission)

AFCAT 2/2017 Eligibility Criteria


1) Flying Branch

Education: -Graduation (min 3 years) in any discipline with min 60% marks OR B.E/ B.Tech from a recognized University with min 60% marks. Candidates must have passed Maths and Physics with minimum 60% in each subject at 10+2 level.

Age:- 20 to 24 years as on 01.07.2018 (born between 02.07.1994 to 01.07.1998 including both dates). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and Current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxed up to 26 years i.e. born between 02.07.1992 to 01.07.1998 (both dates inclusive).

Min Height and vision: 162.5 cms with correlated weight

And 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other


2.Technical branch 

*Education: Four year degree qualification in relevant field of engineering OR should have cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with minimum 60% marks for Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)} and Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)}.posts. Candidates must have passed Maths and Physics with minimum 60% in each subject at 10+2 level.

*Age Limit: 20 to 26 years on 01.07.2018 (born between 02.07.1992 to 01.07.1998 including both dates)

*Min Height: 157.5 cms with correlated weight, women – 152 cms


3) Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch

Education: Graduate degree (Min 3 years) in any discipline with min 60% marks or equivalent or cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with a min of 60% marks or equivalent for Administration and Logistics posts

B.Com (Min 3 years) with min 60% marks forAccounts posts

MBA / MCA or MA / M Sc degree (Minimum 2 years) in English / Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Statistics / International relations / International studies / Defence studies / Psychology / Computer Science / IT / Management / Mass Communication / Journalism / Public Relation with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate all paper put together in Post Graduation (Minimum two year programme) and 60% marks in graduation forEducation posts

Age Limit: 20 to 26 years on 01.07.2018 (born between 02.07.1992 to 01.07.1998 including both dates)

Min Height: 157.5 cms with correlated weight, women – 152 cms

* Candidates, who have failed the PABT test earlier, are not eligible for this exam.

* Final year/semester students can also apply for AFCAT 2017 exam given that they have secured minimum 60% marks in aggregate so far with no present backlog and must be able to provide provisional or original degree certificate latest by 15 June 2018.

Fill in your details in the Registration form and Submit

A User ID and password will be sent to your email.

Use the User ID and password to login by using the ‘Login to Apply Online’ link below

Fill in your application form, Upload recent color passport size photograph, signature, and thumb impression

Complete the application and Take a print out

On successful completion of Application, candidates will receive Registration SMS.
