Interview is one of the techniques in the selection system of armed forces. And perhaps the oldest one. It serves various purpose and has been in use in defence force for long. It has been also started in Air Force Recruitment test
Definition of Interview:- The word interview is explained in Oxford dictionary as “ A meeting at which some body applying for job, a place on a course etc. is asked questions to discover whether he fit for job or not . Interview is a meaningful dialogue between two persons. The interview is meaningful in the sense that it is to be carried out with certain definite purpose.
Therefore, it has to follow a well-thought-out (Planned) course. The purpose of the meaning of interview of the interview with reference to air force is to access the OLQs of the candidate. A person looking for job has a rough idea as to what the employer look for and hence he wants to project himself as if he is the right person which in fact he may or may not be. The candidate comes in front of IO ( Interview Officer) with a mask on and it is this mask that the Interview Officer has broken through and uncover the actual personality of the person. This is what we call the meaning of purpose of the interview.
